WASHINGTON, D.C. - Feb. 17, 2007 - NomadsLand.com an internet video
platform for social issue filmmakers has launched its Alpha website
in its mission to offer alternative distribution for cinema with a

to video enthusiasts can upload their films to www.NomadsLand.com.
The company will host feature films, documentaries, music videos and
satire for free as long as the film seeks to make a social
commentary, stimulate political conversation or encourage some social
NomadsLand is many things to many people, says founder and CEO Davin
Hutchins. Its an entertaining information site, an informative
entertainment site, a window to the world, but above all, a forum for
social ideas and ultimately a grass-roots campaign for change.
Although much of the video can be viewed for free, www.NomadsLand.com
will offer secure downloads and rentals on premium films featured on
the site, sharing 50 percent of its revenues with each director.
Among the initial films being distributed on www.NomadsLand.com are
Dhruv Dhawans From Dust and Davin Hutchins The Art of Flight. From
Dust, a touching documentary which examines the socio-political
aftermath of the Asian tsunami, premiered at the Tribeca Film
Festival, HotDocs, OneWorld Human Rights Film Festival, Dubai
International Film Festival and the Kara Film Festival.
The Art of Flight is a guerrilla documentary tracing the trail of
Sudanese refugees from Darfur to Egypt and their tales of survival.
The film premiered at AFI Fest Hollywood, International Documentary
Festival Amsterdam and the Bangkok International Film Festival. Other
films explore topics such as homelessness in San Francisco, belly
dancing in Egypt and the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Human

short changed after their festival run. Through viral e-mail, search

Gerhard M. was an amateur photographer sent to the Eastern Front as a German soldier. He took along a camera to record his combat experiences as he and his unit marched into the Soviet Union. Based on his wartime diary and photo album, Gerhard M. was later tried and executed for war crimes by the Soviet Union.

Contest into its film programme, making MusiXine the burning point of

LOOKING FOR AN ICON Opens at Film Forum, May 9!
Tickets are available now for the upcoming limited engagement of
LOOKING FOR AN ICON screening with THE DAY YOU'LL LOVE ME (El Dia Que

From directors Senain Kheshgi and Geeta V. Patel comes PROJECT KASHMIR
a feature documentary in which the directors, two American friends
from opposite sides of the divide, investigate the war in Kashmir and
find their friendship tested over deeply rooted religious biases they
never had to face in the US. PROJECT KASHMIR explores war between
countries and war within oneself by delving into the fraught lives of
young people caught in the social/political conflict of one of the
most beautiful, and most deadly, places on earth Kashmir.
The goal of the PROJECT KASHMIR outreach strategy is to create
awareness and increase understanding of the conflict in Kashmir; to
generate interfaith dialogues in the United States and to encourage
communities to become active in organizations working to promote
conflict resolution, religious tolerance and peace building in regions
of conflict, especially Kashmir.
The Digital/Online Marketing & Outreach Director will work closely
with director/producers Senain Kheshgi and Geeta Patel to develop and
implement online PR, advocacy, and release strategies.
o Develop and implement online PR and content strategy for PROJECT
KASHMIR Campaign to amplify our reach online and to grow our e-
subscriber list ?
o Coordinate and e-produce house parties around the world.
o Research and implement web-based PR and marketing activities

When SAGAS receives an order, we will email the job description to
each registered Videographer that is willing to work in the area code
that the interview will take place. The first response accepting the
job will get the job. SAGAS will be careful not to over saturate the
videographer pool in any given location. This will ensure that
registered interviewers get their fair share of the work. So register
Shooting a Sagas video interview is simple. It is a one hour
interview; the entire call should not take more than 3 hours. No
editing is involved. When the Videographer accepts the job, they
receive the subject's contact information, and a one-page paper from
the customer that describes questions or topics that the customer
would like raised. The shoot style consists of an informal interview.
The videographer will sit in front of (and to the side of) their Mini
DV camera which is mounted on a stationary tripod. No lights are
required. The finished unedited miniDv tape will be sent directly to
Sagas who will pay within three days of receipt and review. Sagas
will pay $250 for each interview with an additional premium applied in
certain areas. Sagas has created a variety of training and self-help
tools, including demo interviews conducted by Hoffman. These should
help you to become a more skilled interviewer.
In two months, Sagas will go live and begin offering its services to
customers across the nation. We will begin promoting SAGAS nationally

The Tank's film and video series screen new work from emerging

established independent image-makers. We screen all genres and lengths
on 16mm, DV, DVD, and VHS, including live multimedia performance events.

collaborative, and affordable environment for artists and activists
