Coded Stories: Art, Bar Codes, & Mapuche Identity
Coded Stories, a documentary film, weaves together contemporary art with indigenous rights to convey the struggle of the Mapuche of Chile to preserve their culture and way of life. The goal of Coded Stories is to spread awareness about the plight of the Mapuche, a people whose traditions are under serious threat.
The film follows artist Guillermo Bert, a Chilean-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose recent work was inspired by the similarities between Mapuche textile patterns and contemporary bar codes (QR codes). Bert's art raises questions about identity, globalization, modernization, and challenges facing indigenous cultures in the Americas.
Please help spread the word. The campaign ends July 17, and we have quite a way to go. Thank you!

If you’re planning to attend, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Admission at DCTV is free for current DocuClub members and $6 for non-members.

Tickets will be sold at the door, cash only.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. No admittance after 7:15 p.m.

THE FRONT MAN is a hilarious romantic musicomedy that also emerges as the life story of an iconic American character. Jim and his wife Christie struggle with the merits of abandoning a loose and carefree post-adolescent lifestyle in favor of starting a family and pursuing comfort and security. For restless artists, however, does the path to finally becoming grownups also bring happiness?
Award-winning filmmaker Paul Devlin (SLAMNATION, POWER TRIP, BLAST!) has been following the story of his childhood friend Jim Wood for over 12 years. Jim and his band, Loaded Poets, represent Everyman rock ‘n’ rollers, still tirelessly recording music in their basements 20 years and several hundred songs since they formed in high school.
A dynamic, outrageous spokesman, Jim’s humor is as contagious as his music. But eventually he must answer the question all performers face, especially when the audiences dwindle and the Rock Star promise has faded: What is the purpose of creating one’s art?
Jim and Christie invite us into their lives with intelligence and humor to discover what happens when the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dream and the American dream collide.

We need support to push our documentary "The Other Side of the Rainbow" over the finishing line. But for that we need to raise money to afford the needed facilities.
“The Other Side of the Rainbow†shows what it means to be gay, lesbian or transgender today in Berlin by portraying four individuals, who are in some way or another part of Berlin’s LGBT community, but won’t quiet fit in into the usual clichés: 22-year-old free spirit Isabelle, gay punk Nico, transgender writer and performer Jayrome and, the handicapped Mark. A parallel fifth storyline tells the background of Berlin’s gay pride and the development from on to two different parades on the same day in the city.
If our project raised your interest, please visit our fundraising campaign at Indiegogo.
