I am a Kyoto-based independe producer/director of documentaries. Having lived in New York for 13 years, I am interested in transnational people and culture. I have been showing around THE GRANDPA FROM BRAZIL about a Japanese immigrant to Brazil all over Japan.It was shown in Brazil at the time of cenntenial of Japanese emigration to Brazil. I am developing a new documentary to follow how immigrants from different parts of the world, local Japanese, and visiting artists and people from urban areas will interact with each other in an on-going art project in the countryside of Japan.
