Kate Barden Maloney is an entertainment rights, clearances and licensing professional with nearly 10 years of experience. Kate recently moved from New York City and currently resides in Seattle, WA. She began her career in BMG’s Copyright department handling mechanical licensing for Arista and J Records. From there she moved into BMG’s Film & TV department issuing synchronization licenses for their vast catalog of music. During her many years in the Film & TV department Kate executed thousands of licenses that helped the department hit record breaking years in revenue. Prior to moving to the Pacific Northwest Kate worked in the Rights & Clearances group at Home Box Office, Inc. At HBO Kate negotiated clearance fees and contract terms with music labels, publishers, libraries, footage and stock photo agencies to obtain the necessary rights to use their content.
